Archetypes
A detailed workshop investigation of six universally accessible types of characters –
The Fool
The Trickster
The King
The Mother
The Hero
The Innocent
The modular characters effectively identify human character traits can then be used as building blocks to create new characters and explore and understand pupils' own personalities. These characters are addressed physically , vocally and in a performance context. These sessions greatly complement and support SEAL work, speaking and listening, EAL, English literature and storytelling.
Mirroring
We specialize in multisensory investigation of human reflection and reflective surfaces and reflection via technology. We progress to highly complex mirroring of each other individually and in groups. Mirroring takes place visually, physically and vocally.
Film & Video
An extension of our mirror work uses our company concept of “live loop” where workshop individuals and groups are projected to themselves and an audience on a big / cinema screen.
These exercises are an identification, investigation and celebration of pupils' own images and sense of self.
Using touch screen technology every pupil has the chance to manipulate their own image with over a hundred digital effects.
Working particularly with SEN and ASD pupils, we aim to give individuals a sense of connection and ownership of their perceived image both internally and within their peer community.
This technique also provides an invaluable experience for more able performers to simultaneously take the role of actor and audience.
